How can we help?

Most measurements become more consistent with the same racquet, the same tapping method, and a quieter room.

Tennis Tension Lab 1.0 support

Get a clean measurement

  1. Remove any vibration dampener.
  2. Place the phone close to the racquet in a quiet room.
  3. Tap the center of the string bed lightly and consistently three to five times.
  4. Use the same position and tapping object when you compare results over time.

The displayed value is an estimate based on sound and the equipment details you provide. It is designed for repeatable comparisons and is not a certified reading from a stringing machine.

If a reading looks wrong

  • Move away from music, conversation, fans, and hard echoing surfaces.
  • Check the racquet model, head size, string pattern, gauge, and string selection.
  • Keep each tap short; do not press or scrape the strings.
  • Measure a freshly strung racquet first to create a useful baseline.
  • Repeat the session instead of saving taps that the app marks as inconsistent.

Permissions and privacy

Microphone access is required only for tension measurement. Photo access is requested only when you choose a racquet photo. Location access is optional and appears only when you use the nearby-map locate control. Tap audio is analyzed in memory and discarded.

Delete or reset data

Open Settings → Reset synced data. After confirmation, the app removes racquets, string jobs, measurements, feedback, and preferences from the current anonymous Firebase account and synchronized devices, clears the local snapshot, and restores sample data.
