Carlos Alcaraz overcame Jaume Munar 5–7, 6–3, 6–1 in Tokyo’s semifinal on October 5, 2026. He lost four straight games after leading the opening set 5–3. The official tournament report described diminishing bite in his attacks and increasing errors against Munar’s resistance.

A break in the third game of the second set put Alcaraz ahead 2–1, but consolidating required four deuces in the following service game. He responded by attacking with both forehand and backhand, describing a gradual return of confidence through that difficult passage.

After taking the second set 6–3, he won the first five games of the decider. Four lost games, a long hold after breaking and five consecutive games won marked separate changes in the match. The victory sent him into the final against Lehecka, who defeated Vacherot the same day.
