Francisco Cabral and JJ Tracy recovered from 3–5 in the Match Tiebreak to reach the Shanghai final. Their October 16, 2026 semifinal win over eighth seeds Theo Arribage and Albano Olivetti finished 4–6, 6–4, 10–8 after 89 minutes.
Cabral and Tracy had made the opening set’s first break in game seven. Leading 4–3, however, they lost three straight games and the set. They took the second 6–4 before reversing the deficit in the deciding Match Tiebreak.

The pair began playing together in July for the North American hard-court swing. Their first title came in Hangzhou in September, and Shanghai brought their first Masters 1000 final. They had secured two finals in the same Asian swing.
Their French opponents were chasing qualification for the ATP Finals. Cabral and Tracy advanced to await the winner of the other semifinal, with Schnaitter and Wallner facing Miedler and Oberleitner for the remaining final place.
