Qu was serving to force a deciding-set tiebreak when Dart broke. That return game completed the 7–5 set and the two-sets-to-one victory.

Dart advanced to face No. 10 seed Iva Jovic. The report identified Jovic as arriving after successfully defending the Guadalajara WTA 500 title, setting up a seeded opponent after Dart’s long opening match.
