Alejandro Davidovich Fokina ended Hubert Hurkacz’s nine-match Shanghai winning streak with a 1-6, 6-3, 7-6(6) victory on October 13, 2026, converting his third match point.
It was his second consecutive deciding-set tiebreak win after saving a match point against Frances Tiafoe. This time he had to recover from a one-sided opener.

Hurkacz was making his first Shanghai appearance since winning in 2023. Davidovich had also beaten him in the Chengdu final two weeks earlier; he now led their meetings 6-2, with four consecutive wins.
