Ariana Geerlings won her first WTA 125 title by beating Laura Samson 6-2, 6-2 in the Mallorca final on October 18, 2026. The event took place at Magaluf Municipal Sports Centre, with Geerlings entering on a wildcard awarded by Spain’s tennis federation.

According to the tournament’s official report, the 21-year-old suffered a serious knee injury in August 2025 and spent almost a year away. Based in Murcia, she returned in summer 2026 and reached this title roughly three months into her comeback.

The final was brought forward to 10:00 local time because of the weather forecast. Geerlings conceded two games in each set, and Gabriela Sabatini attended the trophy ceremony.

At the event’s second edition, Geerlings became its second singles champion. At a press conference at Mallorca Country Club the previous day, tournament ambassador Sabatini had highlighted the role of events that give young players opportunities to develop their professional careers.
