Federico Agustin Gomez earned his first Grand Slam main-draw win at Roland Garros on May 27, 2025. After losing the opening set to Aleksandar Kovacevic, he won 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-1 in two hours and 47 minutes.

Gomez hit 16 aces and converted six of 17 break opportunities. The ATP report put him at age 28 and No. 144 at the time. His previous tour main-draw victory had come against Alexandre Muller at Chengdu in 2024.

His route into the Paris draw also changed direction. He beat Mae Malige and Martín Landaluce in qualifying, then lost to Giulio Zeppieri in the final round. A lucky-loser place gave him the opening match on Court 9.

Their earlier Challenger meeting had ended in defeat for Gomez after three tie-breaks on hard court in Temuco. He reversed the outcome on Paris clay in 2025, with Cameron Norrie then waiting in the second-round draw.
