Jiri Lehecka held all sixteen service games but still needed three sets in his Tokyo ATP 500 opener. He defeated Zizou Bergs 6-3, 6-7(3), 6-3 on October 1, 2026, saving both break points he faced.
Bergs won the second-set tiebreak 7-3. He earned a set by taking the contest after 6-6, despite never breaking Lehecka’s serve during the match.

Lehecka created far more opportunities on return: thirteen break points, of which he converted two. Bergs saved the other eleven, leaving the final break count at two to zero.
Both players contested sixty points behind a successful first serve, with Lehecka winning forty-eight and Bergs forty-five. Lehecka led nine aces to one. He had also beaten Bergs 6-2, 6-1 in the Doha second round on February 18 that year.
