Karolina Muchova beat qualifier Caty McNally 3–6, 7–6(1), 7–6(4) in Wuhan’s second round on October 14. Those two tiebreaks took her 2026 record to 10–0. WTA identified her as the first player this century to win the opening ten tiebreaks of a season.

The previous comparison was nine straight to begin the year, achieved by Arantxa Sanchez Vicario in 2000 and Maria Sakkari in 2020. Muchova had also won one tiebreak each against Katie Boulter and Naomi Osaka in Beijing the previous week.
