Dayana Yastremska lost the Nottingham final to McCartney Kessler 4–6, 5–7 on June 22, 2025. Playing time was 94 minutes, with nearly two additional hours of rain interruptions in the opening set. WTA listed the finalists at No.46 and No.42 respectively.

Serving at 3–5 in the second set, Yastremska saved five championship points. She then broke Kessler to love, reaching 5–5 and reopening a set that had nearly finished.

Kessler immediately broke back for 6–5. Serving for the title again, a backhand passing winner brought up her sixth championship point, which ended when Yastremska returned wide. The game immediately after the comeback supplied the final separation.

Yastremska had beaten three seeds to reach her second final of the year after Linz. Kessler collected her third singles title and her first away from hard courts. The last two games show how a successful recovery is immediately followed by another service or return task.
