Alina Charaeva won her first WTA 125 title in Midland and reached a new career-high ranking. The WTA’s February 23, 2026 update moved her up 25 places to No. 138.

Her previous best WTA 125 finish was runner-up in Huzhou in September 2025. Midland took her one step further. The event ran February 16–22 on indoor hard courts in Michigan, with a 32-player singles draw.

Runner-up Guo Hanyu also made her first WTA 125 final, rising 30 places to a career-high No. 156. She saved a match point against Elvina Kalieva in the quarterfinals and played Mary Stoiana for three hours and four minutes in the semifinal.

The same weekly report identified Daria Snigur in Oeiras 2 and Dominika Salkova in Les Sables d’Olonne as first-time WTA 125 champions. All three indoor hard-court events crowned a new winner at that level.
