Sixteen-year-old Sun Xinran earned her WTA Tour debut in Beijing after winning the 2026 US Open junior singles title. WTA’s September 29 profile identified the junior world No. 1 as a main-draw wild card, scheduled to face Eva Lys in the first round.

After losing the junior finals at Roland Garros and Wimbledon that year, Sun beat Anna Pushkareva 6-4, 4-6, 6-0 in New York. Her third junior major final of the season brought the title.

Born in Shenzhen, she began playing after joining her mother on court and moved to Belgrade at age ten. She trained at Tennis Park Belgrade and had worked with Goran Zivotic and Goran Krivokuca for five years.

At professional ITF and WTA 125 level, she held a combined career record of 23-10, including W15 titles in Sharm El Sheikh in October and November 2025. Her junior results also included the 2025 Orange Bowl and 2026 Milan J500 titles before this step into Beijing’s tour field.
