Iga Swiatek defeated Iva Jovic 6–1, 6–3 in Beijing’s fourth round on October 7, 2026. Their first meeting lasted 1 hour and 36 minutes, with Swiatek winning the final four games from 2–3 in set two.

Swiatek began by taking the first five games. Jovic saved two set points in the sixth game to get on the scoreboard, before Swiatek closed the set in the next service game on her fifth set point.

In set two, Jovic recovered an early break from 0–2 and saved another two break points to lead 3–2. Swiatek then held her own service games and broke Jovic’s next two, regaining control after a much more competitive passage.

The result ended Jovic’s six-match winning streak, which had begun with her Guadalajara title the previous month. Swiatek reached her 31st WTA 1000 quarterfinal and was set to face Elise Mertens, who had beaten Gauff.
