Stefanos Tsitsipas beat Matteo Berrettini 7–6(5), 1–6, 6–4 in the Dubai quarterfinals on February 27, 2025. ATP reported that he won nine of the next eleven points after facing 15–40 in the ninth game of the deciding set.
Berrettini had lost just one service point during the second set. Tsitsipas recovered with assertive net play late in the third, completing the match in one hour and 57 minutes. A one-sided set therefore preceded a different direction in the final two games.
The win made their head-to-head 4–1 and took Tsitsipas into his third Dubai semifinal. Tallon Griekspoor, who beat Medvedev that day, was the next opponent.
The two break points at 4–4 could have allowed Berrettini to serve for the match. Tsitsipas instead held and then won the following return game to close 6–4. Read the nine-of-eleven-point finish beside the starting score to see how that short passage decided the set.
