Luca Nardi lost to Marton Fucsovics in qualifying at Dubai 2025, then entered the main draw as a lucky loser after Jack Draper withdrew. The tournament’s February 26 match report described that second entry route for the then-world No.79.
His first-round opponent was Fucsovics again. This time Nardi won in three sets, changing the result against the same opponent within the same event. The qualifying defeat remained part of the record, alongside the later main-draw victory.

He then beat Zizou Bergs on Wednesday to reach the quarterfinals. Qualifier Quentin Halys, who had defeated Rublev and Bautista Agut, was next. Two players with different entry routes had each won twice in the main draw before meeting.
Here, lucky-loser entry filled an available main-draw place under the relevant rules; it did not erase the qualifying result. Read the sequence beside the label: the lost match, the vacancy and the matches played after entry. That is more informative than treating the abbreviation as a prediction of playing strength.
