Zheng Qinwen spent 15 hours and 16 minutes across seven matches during her 2026 Beijing title run. On October 15, WTA announced her Osaka withdrawal with a continuing shoulder injury; Ashlyn Krueger entered the main draw.

The earlier Wuhan notice cited Zheng’s right shoulder. Fellow Beijing finalist Mirra Andreeva also withdrew from Wuhan, citing a schedule change. Their stated reasons differed.

Zheng’s first four Beijing matches went three sets; the last three finished in two. The October 12 and 15 notices document successive withdrawals after that run, ahead of Osaka’s October 19–25 event.
